This historical Poster is the oldest known depiction of a Franconian brewer. It was puplished in 1425 in a series of "household books" issued by the Nuremberg Twelve Brothers Foundation. The picture shows Brewer Herttel using a long pole to stir the mash, which is being heated in a two-handled kettle over a brick fireplace. Suspended above the brewer is a six-pointed star composed of two interwoven triangles.
